It was a pleasure to host Tanvi Ratna, Founder and CEO, Policy 4.0 for our Friday seminar series today. The topic was ‘Policymaking and Regulation in Blockchain'.

It was a great session with deep insights into global blockchain ecosystem. Her analysis of three of the blockchain leader countries -Switzerland, Germany and Dubai, was simply brilliant.

It was instructive to learn how these countries leveraged their core strengths to create a vibrant blockchain ecosystem and established themselves as leaders in the blockchain technology.

TNeGA had a wonderful interactive session on ‘Maker Village’ with Mr. Madhavan Nambiar, Chairman, Kerala Government Digital Advisory Board and Chairman, Maker Village.

Mr. Nambiar specialises in the policy and practice of infrastructure development, innovative emerging industries, and the design and management of government-industry partnership.

Mr. Madhavan Nambiar shared his experiences and challenges that he faced in setting up ‘Maker Village’, India's largest hardware electronic manufacturing incubator. He emphasized upon the importance of startup ecosystem in India. He also gave insights on how TNeGA can work towards building an electronic hardware manufacturing industry.

The session was very thought-provoking.

As part of our ongoing Friday Seminars @ TNeGA #24, a session was conducted on the theme ‘Driving Healthcare diagnostics using AI Power’ on 20th September 2019.

Dr.Sumathi, HoD/ECE, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, was the keynote speaker. The seminar focused on the topics Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, Use cases of AI in Healthcare and Plant Leaf Detection & Malaria parasite detection. It gave an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the implementation and impact of AI in a variety of healthcare settings.

The session was very insightful to the participants.

TNeGA hosted a seminar on 'AI & DATA : National Strategies and lessons for India' on 13th September 2019. Dr.Anindya Chaudhuri, Senior Economist of Global Development Network(GDN), was the Keynote speaker for the seminar. The seminar briefed the connection between AI, data and decision making. He explained about the common information-theoretic origins, the evolution of data-driven decision making and the unique characteristic signatures of AI within the evolutionary framework. He also talked about the major challenges that countries are facing in harnessing AI effectively and how technology leaders can approach them in their respective AI strategies. The seminar ended with a discussion on the options that how India can consider in terms of feasibility and impact.
